Quality Branded Apparel for Discharge Ink Printing

When it comes to creating a custom printed apparel brand, there are many factors that can contribute to a successful product. The first contributing factor is creating a product that your potential customer actually will want to purchase. A common mistake that a new designer will make is trying to find the cheapest company to do your custom screen printing.
An average screen printer will use a traditional t-shirt brand to print on, and use traditional plastisol inks to print with. The result will be a traditional promotional screen printed t-shirt that you may find on a construction site, or in a hardware store. The shirt will be boxy and heavy, the print will be thick and prone to cracking with repeated washing. To create a higher end, or retail oriented result, an experienced printer will start with a high quality garment, specially designed to consistently receive a discharge ink or water-based ink.
Your customers will be selective about what they will spend their money on, especially in a tightened economy, and will not purchase a garment that is not perceived to be of a good cut and quality. Remember that although you may be concerned with your bottom line, your customers are not. They will demand the best fit and feel.
When developing custom apparel, Ink My Tee will suggest you use a high quality, fashion cut brand such as American Apparel, Tultex, or Next Level Apparel. These companies develop materials that are designed to consistently receive and hold modern discharge inks. Discharge ink printing will produce a soft hand feel and a print that will last forever. The discharge ink contains a bleaching agent that actually changes the color of the fibers in the garment instead of just ‘painting’ a design on the top of it.
Your customers will know the difference, and while poor quality product will end up as a rag to wash the car with, a high quality one will be everyone’s favorite t-shirt.
