Plastisol T-shirt Printing
Soft Hand Plastisol Inks for Shirt Printing
The traditional ink used for screen printing is plastisol. Plastisol inks can best be described as a “user-friendly” ink because it is very easy to manage. Plastisol is inexpensive and can be used on light or dark shirts. The challenge when using plastisol inks, is using as little ink as possible to prevent a thick design that can potentially crack.
Plastisol overall is very user friendly. It can be left in the screen for long periods of time because it doesn’t “dry”. It can be printed wet-on-wet (no flashing) for faster production times. The same formulas can be used on light and dark garments. Disposal of waste (if there is any) is pretty simple, however, any unused ink from a shirt run can be returned to the container for later use so there is not much need to dispose of waste.
